Watch your mailbox! The next MVRA Newsletter will be coming out Mid ~ February!
In other MVRA News, the Iowa Games was a HUGE success. It is not the most glamorous event given the cold,
slush, not-so-ideal parking, cold.....You get the picture! BUT~ we h ad a record number of people come out to run this year
with 138 finishers. This is WAY up from the previous record of 104. I appreciate all the smiling faces out there and it is
greta that many of you were able to stick around for the awards ceremony. Again, not an ideal situation in the cold. So, THANK
YOU RUNNERS for making this a great event.
I also have to thank the great staff that helped pull this off. To the committe from the MVRA Board, outside
volunteers (friends and family of the board), the City of Dubuque for getting that course sanded down bright and early, the
Dubuque Parks & Recreation Commission for helping clear the park driveway and small parking lot, the Auxilliary Police
who do a fantastic job leading the race and keeping the course safe from traffic. You are all greatly appreciated and we couldn't
do this without you.
We currently post race information and/or entry forms
for many local and area races. We will continue to do this for those race directors who contact us and request this service.
There will be no charge for us putting race information/entry on the website. There will no longer be printing of entries
in the newsletter. All MVRA events will be posted and options for online or paper registration. As always you will be able
to pick up printed entry forms for MVRA events at several local outlets and alist of these locations will appear with the
race information.
We
gladly take submissions from members; race reports, congratulations to someone you know who ran a race, completed a goal etc.
Members like to hear what other members are doing with their running! Submissions
will be posted on the MVRA News page and can be submitted at any time. Send your submissions to runnerangie@aol.com
Race
Directors: We will POST your Race Entry form on
the EVENTS/RACES Page of the website. Please send a PDF File of your entry form to Angie @ runnerangie@aol.com Entries will be posted from the time we recieve it until the day of the event. We are happy
to provide this service for your race!
