40th Annual Benefit Classic Half Marathon and 5K
SEPT 4 - LABOR DAY
Come celebrate the 40th Annual Dubuque Benefit Classic Half Marathon and 5K! This race that starts out in the scenic Eagle Point Park provides participants a beautiful run through the park on the bluffs of the Mississippi. The half marathoners then exit the park on a downhill and run a flat stretch along the banks of the mighty Mississippi until they return back into the park where they encounter a challenging hill that isn’t for the faint of heart. As one participant so perfectly pointed out, “The killer hill is worth it for the beautiful view at the summit.”
This Labor Day race is the perfect training run for those gearing up for one of the many Midwest fall marathons.
To celebrate our 40th anniversary the first 250 people that register for the half marathon will receive a quarter-zip long sleeve shirt.
NEW THIS YEAR! For the half marathon, the overall male and female, in both the under 40 age group and 40+ age group, will receive $250. Second place in each category will receive a pair of shoes from the Shoe Shack. Third place in each category will receive a $50 gift certificate for the Shoe Shack.
Half marathon finishers will receive medals. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age division in both the half marathon and 5K.
The race will be chip-timed and awards will be based on gun time.
