After careful consideration of how the COVID-19 pademic is impacting the world and our community, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's MVRA Trail Run. We believe this is the best decision for the safety of our participants, the running community, and greater Dubuque area as we do our part to help minimize the effects and spread of this disease. In making this decision, the MVRA worked in partnership with our local government, public health departments, city officials, police and sheriff departments, facility operators, sponsors, and volunteers. This collective group of organizations feel that this is the right choice, however difficult it may be to accept.
All entry fees will be deferred to the 2021 race. As a non-profit organization, and already having incurred expenses related to this years race, we have worked hard to find a resolution that we felt would be fair and equitable for all those affected.
Although this is not what we had hoped for this year's race, we do have good news to share. Thanks to our partnership with MercyOne, we are excited to announce that four graduating seniors will still receive our annual scholarship awards! We cannot emphasize how much this means to us and the recipients of the award! This would not be possible without the continued generous support from MercyOne! As a healthcare facility and working on the front lines of this pandemic we ask that you keep all of their employees in your thoughts and prayers. We look forward to continuing the Trail Race in 2021. Stay safe and healthy everyone!
